An introduction to silversmithing where you get to make your own handmade silver ring.

Within this session you will have full access to all tools and I may even throw in a few ‘secret’ techniques.
Coffee, biscuits and cake also usually make an appearance!
A 3 to 3.5 hour workshop enabling you to design and make your own silver ring band. This is an advanced class where you will also learn the foundations of working with copper and silver and have chance to practice with tools and have time to practice techniques.
Starting in copper you will learn how to adapt, and manipulate the metal by Sawing, piercing, hammering, annealing, patinating and forming. We will also cover soldering, texturing metal and other techniques such as stamping.
After playing and designing your piece, the techniques you learn will then enable you to create a solid silver ring band.
By the end of the session you will have a copper ring and a silver ring.
All materials are included – no hidden costs
Materials included – Copper sheet, Sterling silver sheet (1mm x 6mm x 75mm), Solder and use of all tools. If you want more silver, I will need to charge per gram.
The Wonky Jewellery Studio is based in The Market town of Richmond North Yorkshire, a short distance from the Main town on the Gallowfields trading estate, just along from Richmond Garden Centre.
You do not need any previous experience
Hand tools are used alongside a simple power tool. Safety goggles provided. Toilet and refreshments available.
